I’m getting ready for winter work on Shibumi

I’m getting ready for winter work on Shibumi. Projects on the list so far are:
Upgrade wheelhouse VHF, add AIS, wheelhouse window trim, rework stabilizer hydraulics and if I get the energy add a shore power inlet to the cockpit. I’m sure the Admiral will have more projects as well… The Shibumi website is now linked to Bakes Consulting.

About BakesConsulting

I am a self professed boat geek. I've reached a time in my life that now I work with people I like or on boats I like. It's pretty simple. I fine tune systems and specialize on trawler yachts.

  1. Howdy Bill,

Hope you and family are well. Chartered Shibumi in 2011.

Hoping that you will keep her into and past the 2018 season as I am planning for a two week charter with seaworthy folks two of which you met on my overnight tutorial trip to Quartermaster Harbor on Vashon Island.
I looked over the rest of the charter fleet at Ayc but still nothing compares to Shibumi for comfort and safety.
Looking for August 26th -Sept. 8th 2018 or thereabouts.
Not sure how far ahead your plans are for charter but I will contact AYC with regards to advanced planning.
I like the new tender! It reminds me of a Purse Seiner tender. Bet you like the advantage of more room and light weight and to be able to run it with that economical Honda 50.

Is your father-in-law still building models? Middle of winter here in New England but a mini heat wave this and next week.

    Be well.

    Frank O’Neal
